Changing The Paradigm
500 women from 24 countries and 30 nationalities gathered for two days in London at the The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) to rethink leadership and the role of women in these turbulent times.
Thanks to the hashtagW50 program, which Santander Open Academy launched 15 years ago to select and connect 50 women each year from all over the world.
I participated in the 2017 edition, where we enjoyed a week of elite education at UCLA Anderson School of Management .
That’s what brought us together in this exclusive university in UK, to be inspired and transformed by outstanding leaders.
We discussed and debated about:
Courage. Resilience. Purpose. Learning. Risk. Elite. Privilege. Ethics. Technology. Inpower. LeadHerShip. MeSearch. Visibility. Presence. Antifragility. Radicality. Uncertainty. Integrity. Silence. Listening. Conversations. Values. Culture. Vulnerability. Equity. Trust. Intuition. Activism. Luck. IMPACT.
Some quotes that I brought home:
• “Be a luck creator.”
• “Who speaks well about you when you’re not in the room?”
• “Say less, listen more.”
• “Saying thank you can change the game.”
• “It’s about analyzing data, not just researching for it.”
• “Leadership is choosing to speak even when your voice is trembling.”
• “Comfort never created progress.”
• “Feedback invites vulnerability.”
• “Integrity gives us the courage to speak up.”
• “Leadership is about having courageous conversations.”
• “Be yourself; everyone else is taken.”
• “You can be more right or less wrong.”
It has been so important and memorable to get toguether with my class of 2017 and meet with all the other global leaders willing to change the world with a more inclusive vision.
